A few years ago, my business started on a journey of change and improvement. It was less a conscious decision on my part and more a combination of good luck, chance and the willingness to say:
"Sure, I'll try that."
Let's see how it turned out...
Snowball #1
It first started when I was asked to list a small home that had been staged. Prior to this, I hadn't experienced the full benefits of staging first hand, but once I saw that listings were selling quicker and for more money than previously anticipated, I was sold.
Snowball #2
Last summer I helped some clients from Vancouver, BC who were relocating to London, ON find a character home in Old East Village. It would turn out they were in the marketing and communications industry and were able to help me with my online presence: a new website, newsletters, social networking and blogging soon followed. It has truly been an enlightening process.
Snowball #3
Last winter, my conference partner, Mike, showed me how to use an ipad for business. It was like entering a future dimension, and I now make digital floor plans for all my listings, organize open houses and create paperwork and visual presentations for my clients. This offers a more in-depth real estate experience for both buyers and sellers.
Carrot
I have always done whatever it takes to offer my clients the best service possible. I've realized that staying in touch with them through the entire real estate buying and selling process is essential. An old friend of mine who has been working behind the scenes at Royal LePage Triland for over 30 years has since become my Communications Specialist. Now, my buyers and sellers are kept in the loop with everything that's going on and truly feel like their on a part of the action every step of the way.
Scarf and Buttons
To enhance the home selling services for my clients, I added professional photography, virtual tours and information packages (that include elements like utility costs, property taxes, schools in the area, London neighbourhood statistics) for each listing. It just seemed like the best way to round out the presentation for each property and provide the most information possible. More importantly, it has helped sell homes faster.
Hat
I realized very early on in this business that I would not have been as successful without the support of staff members, other agents (especially my conference friends), business associates, brokers and most of all, my clients. Without you, I would not be in this business. You certainly "top it off."And with that, this past year has really been about building the perfect snowman. All of the pieces have come together to create a greater experience for those buying or selling real estate in London, ON.
I thank each and every one of you who has been a part of the past year!
From my family to yours, I wish you a great Holiday Season and a fantastic 2014.
Happy Holidays,
Melanie Pearce
